Education Levels

In the American education system, there are four levels, or years, of study. The same applies in all undergraduate higher education in Indonesia. Undergraduate higher education is designed to be completed in 4 years or less.

First Year

In year 1, students enter the Common Preparatory Stage (TPB) together with students from other study programs. In that year, students study basic courses such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, which will later serve as the foundation for subsequent courses.

Second Year

Second-year students are introduced to basic food technology courses, such as biochemistry, the physical properties of food materials, food processing unit operations, food analysis, and nutrition science.

Third Year

In year 3, students study courses in line with their areas of interest. In addition, in the third year students can choose to join Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) with activities equivalent to 20 credits. MBKM activities can be taken over 2 semesters. Students may also take elective courses, such as meat processing technology, bakery technology, and technology of food and plantation products. In that year, field work practice (internship/ internship) is also carried out as part of MBKM.

Fourth Year

In the final year, senior students are challenged to apply their knowledge of food technology in Community Service (KKN), food entrepreneurship practicum, and the final project (thesis). After graduating, students are entitled to the degree of Bachelor of Agricultural Technology (S.T.P).
