Monday (July 4, 2023), the Department of Food Technology and Agricultural Products at Universitas Gajah Mada visited the Institut Teknologi Sumatera. One of the agenda items at the visit was the initiation of MoA (Memorandum of Agreement), which would later be agreed upon between the JTPI ITERA party and the Department of TPHP UGM. The delegation from the Department of TPHP UGM was represented by Mrs. Prof. Dr. Eni Harmayani, M.Sc. and Mrs. Prof. Dr. Ir. Tyas Utami, M.Sc., while JTPI ITERA was represented by Mr. Hadi Teguh Yudistira, S.T., Ph.D. as the chairman of the JTPI and its members.

This meeting discussed many matters that can increase cooperation between the two institutions, including collaboration in the Tri Dharma of the University, collaboration in learning as a form of implementation of MBKM (Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka), research and writing of joint scientific work by lecturers and/or students, student exchange, development of curriculum and/or joint program, scientific forum and other cooperation that is in accordance with the needs and agreement of both parties.

“This agreement can provide benefits to both parties involved. This agreement is also a step to strengthen friendship between the lecturers at ITERA and the lecturers at UGM so that the ITERA lecturers, who are mostly still young, can learn a lot from the lecturers who have long been involved in the world of education,” said Amalia Wahyuningtyas, coordinator of the Food Technology Study Program at ITERA.

The agreement signing will be done separately from this meeting. The great hope of this agreement is an increase in quality, both from the academic and resource sides. This agreement is also expected to be able to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia (MNU).
