The Food Cleverness Competition carried the theme ”Local Food Resilience and Local Food Innovation as an Effort to Sustain Local Food Resilience”, where this theme aims to increase public understanding of how to carry out food resilience by using local food. The event invited great enthusiasm from high school students who were followed by 13 teams consisting of several SMA/SMK/MA/Sederajat schools throughout Lampung Province, in which each school could send up to 3 teams to compete, in which one team consists of 3 people with 1 team leader and 2 team members and this event collaborated in making questions with the Himpunan Students Mathematics ITERA (HIMATIKA), Himpunan Students Biology ITERA (HMB) and Himpunan Students Physics ITERA (HIMAFI). The implementation of LCCP was held on Sunday 29 September 2024 at the General Lecture Hall 2 at Institut Teknologi Sumatera.

The competition consisted of 3 rounds, namely the preliminary round, the semifinal round, and the final round. Every team was tested on basic sciences such as chemistry, biology, mathematics, physics, and food science. Furthermore, this competition directly invited judges from the Lecturers of the Study Program Food Technology at ITERA who were of course experts in their fields. In the preliminary round, each team worked on multiple-choice questions together with a total of 50 questions in 60 minutes. From this round, 9 teams with the highest score qualified for the semifinal round. Continued with the semifinal round where 9 teams were divided into 3 groups with each group consisting of 3 teams, and from each group, 1 team with the highest points advanced to the final round. And the last, the final round presented a very tight competition among the three best teams that remained. This semifinal and final round were divided into 2 types of questions, namely the mandatory question and the contested question. The participants showed quick thinking, teamwork, and deep knowledge to answer each question given. After the final round was held under full tension, the team from SMA Xaverius Bandar Lampung with team leader Christian Elkana Siregar, Elxinvy Caitlyn Gunawan and Albertus Reagen Heneva managed to win first place. They managed to get the highest score from the other 2 teams. With the Food Cleverness Competition, it became a competition venue that tested sharp, fast and agile thinking abilities as well as student insight, especially in the food field. And it received appreciation from the lecturers regarding the high enthusiasm of participants which showed deep understanding of food science. The hope is that with the Food Cleverness Competition, it would be a step in increasing understanding of food issues that exist in Indonesia and advancing Food Technology studies in Indonesia.
