Safe Exam Browser Installation Guide

Before taking the Midterm and Final Exams, Food Technology Study Program students must install the Safe Exam Browser application.

Minimum specifications

Below are the minimum specifications for the computer or laptop used for exams:

  • (recommended) Windows 10 or macOS.
  • Has a webcam (or use a phone camera with Iriun)
  • Zoom and Safe Exam Browser are installed with the configuration settings provided.

Installation

Below are the steps to install Safe Exam Browser.

  1. Download Safe Exam Browser using the button at the end of this guide. Choose the device you will use.
  2. Install it on your device, making sure the requirements above are met.
  3. Download the configuration file your lecturer will provide before the exam.
  4. Once you have the configuration file, open it exactly 5 minutes before the exam, following your lecturer's instructions.

Usage

Safe Exam Browser is used only during quizzes and exams. Participants must use a device with Safe Exam Browser installed.

To use Safe Exam Browser:

  1. Make sure it is installed correctly.
  2. Download the configuration file from your lecturer.
  3. Start Zoom first and make sure you are connected to your class.
  4. Open the configuration file you were given and enter the password.
  5. Start the exam.
  6. Stop the exam when instructed or when time runs out.

Troubleshooting

The best option is to buy a device that will last until you graduate. The quickest is to borrow someone else's device that you know.

Setup Failed

Make sure there is enough space on your hard disk.

Download file “Microsoft Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019” terlebih dahulu yang ada di halaman thispage. Choose the one that matches your architecture, x86 or x64.

Or install the .NET Framework Runtime manually. Click the link on the installation screen.

Ask a friend to install it on your device.

Currently it only works on iOS. Visit this link to download it from the App Store

Use your phone as a webcam. Install Iriun on your phone and download the Iriun driver (at iriun.com). Select Iriun as the webcam when using Zoom.

To exit, use the password: keluar
