Lecturers of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program continued their visit on Friday, 3 June 2022, to the Research Center for Applied Microbiology (National Research and Innovation Agency), based in Cibinong. The visit was conducted in the context of cooperation between the BRIN Research Center for Applied Microbiology and the ITERA Food Technology Study Program. The lecturers of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program were welcomed by Dr. R. Haryo Bimo Setiarto, S.Si., M.Si. and Dr. Fina Amreta Laksmi, researchers at the Research Center for Applied Microbiology. The event consisted of two activities, namely a discussion on cooperation and a visit to the Genomic Laboratory, one of BRIN’s research laboratories. The discussion began with a presentation of the forms of cooperation by Ilham Marvie, S.T.P., M.Si., secretary of the study program. The ITERA Food Technology Study Program explained that three forms of cooperation will be proposed: first, an MBKM internship program in which students can intern for six months at the Research Center for Applied Microbiology. Second, research cooperation between researchers at the Research Center for Applied Microbiology and lecturers of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program. To achieve this research cooperation, a mapping of human resources from both parties was carried out regarding research that has been, is being, and is wished to be conducted. The last is cooperation in the form of opportunities to become practitioner lecturers with an NIDK (Special Lecturer Identification Number) at Sumatra Institute of Technology. These three cooperation programs will be discussed further at the next meeting. After the discussion on cooperation, the lecturers of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program were invited to visit the four-story Genomic Laboratory. Inside the laboratory, there are many tools and instruments grouped by function. The researchers there explained well the rooms and the functions of the instruments in the Genomic Laboratory as well as the research that has been conducted. After this visit, it is hoped that there will be concrete follow-up regarding cooperation between the BRIN Research Center for Applied Microbiology and the ITERA Food Technology Study Program.
