In commemoration of International Food Safety Day, which falls on 7 June 2022, the ITERA Food Technology Study Program held a discussion on enhancing cooperation with the Food Quality Assurance and Safety Competency Certification Body (LSP JMKP) to carry out food safety competency test certification activities for ITERA Food Technology students and graduates. The activity took place at the LSP JMKP Office in Bogor on 3 June 2022.
The collaboration with LSP JMKP is a follow-up to the cooperation that has been running since 2021, with the implementation of competency test certification in the preparation of hazard analytical critical control point (HACCP) documents and good processed food production practices (CPPOB) for all lecturers of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program. This year, training programs and competency test certification will be designed for students and graduates to prepare themselves to enter the workforce.
“LSP JMKP is very open to developing cooperation and is ready to collaborate in preparing students to have food safety competence by providing various schemes. In addition, this opportunity can be developed to make lecturers of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program competency test assessors in the future,” said Ms. Priska of LSP JMKP.
“The ITERA Food Technology Study Program will continue to develop collaboration potential for food safety education activities for the people of Sumatra by preparing graduates who hold food safety certification, and this becomes an added value for students in facing the world after campus,” said Ilham Marvie during the discussion with LSP JMKP.
This collaboration reaffirms the commitment of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program to continuously improve the quality of its graduates and collaborate with industry partners. Naturally, food safety assurance applies not only in industry but also in food technopreneur activities and daily consumption. Graduates of the ITERA Food Technology Study Program will be equipped with food safety competence that they will continue to apply to improve food safety in society. This is in line with the theme of World Food Safety Day 2022, “safer food, better health“. (ILM)
